Megan + Mark – Historic Ashland Pennsylvania Wedding

Megan + Mark – Historic Ashland Pennsylvania Wedding

Megan is a dear friend of mine from college and while we don’t always stay connected, when we catch up it’s like we were never apart. It was my great JOY to capture her day as she has been waiting a long time to call Mark her husband. All week and up to the day of the wedding the forecast called for thunder storms and hail all day for her wedding date. But, we serve a mighty God and we called upon Him faithfully and asked for dry skies for photos. God came through, as you can see, and held the rain off. When I snapped the last photo right before their reception the first drop fell. It was miraculous and a true testament to the power of faith and prayer! When you pray without seizing and full of belief you can change things. She couldn’t have had a more perfect day or found a more perfect man. They were the first wedding held at the Historic Ashland grounds in Wrightsville, PA and this place is amazing! Megan walked down the aisle in her mothers dress which was re-worked to become her own, so many simple details that reflect who Mark and Megan are, simple and classic. These two are full of love and care for one another and all those around them. They are genuine, giving, and humble. I couldn’t be more thrilled for them and all that is to come! Enjoy!

These two will be having a winter Pittsburgh Wedding so what more fitting way to shoot their engagement pictures than in the snow?! The funny part is we tried to plan their session in the winter months and it never worked out due to rain or conflict of plans. Then Spring came and we scheduled their session, who knew we would have the most beautiful blanket of snow!?! That is Pittsburgh for ya! Michelle was so excited as it was what they wanted anyways, and man, these two did NOT disappoint! They killed every minute and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding!

Every time I have to schedule a sunrise session part of me cringes…(it’s super early folks) and part of me is ecstatic because while sleeping later would be wonderful you can not beat that morning light and fog! Not to mention, we still get to enjoy the rest of our day! This family did not disappoint. They were like a breath of fresh air. So loving, and so calm with one another. The new baby to come is sure to be blessed with them as their family. I can tell there will be lots of fun memories ahead for them all. Enjoy!

It’s funny how the world works, how lives are strategically connected before they even cross paths. These two headed off to Penn State University never knowing they would leave with not only an education but also their future husband and wife. Even beyond that, this beautiful woman was planted in my portfolio nearly the same way… I married a man named Kyle who’s mom baby sat Tracy and Tracy’s father coached my husband in football and I then met Kyle at MY college and married him and then Tracy got engaged and decided to use me as a photographer…do you follow?! HA! Crazy small world, but I am SO thankful I got to capture these two. They came all the way to Pittsburgh from Ohio on her Birthday weekend for this shoot. It was bitter cold, but they had all the warmth they needed in each others arms. So full of love, and so full of life. I can’t wait for the wedding! Enjoy!

Iesha + Chuck – West Overton Barn Wedding – Scottdale, PA

This was a day of joy. Nothing could rattle these two on the day they became husband and wife. On a day that called for gloom and rain these two did nothing but smile…and cry…a lot. The good kind of crying, the joyful kind. The ceremony was outside with no plan B and rain out on the horizon. The rain held off just until they were announced Mr. and Mrs. and then it unleashed…just in time for portraits! That’s fine, we like a little challenge, makes us work creatively, and that can be fun if you let it! Chuck and Iesha remained positive and made the most of every moment in their day. They got a little wet, a little muddy, and they had a LOT of fun. Their wedding was a blast and I am so glad it was my job to capture it! Enjoy!

These two and this session just got better and better as we went along (you’ll see as you scroll). For me it was the first time getting to know them and we had a BLAST! We walked, we talked, we sipped wine, and they even sent me home with some! Bonus points for them! If their engagement session was any reflection of the genuine love and joy that will be found on their wedding day I gotta say, I can not wait! Enjoy!

Brenna + Ethan – Bells Banquets Wedding – Mt Pleasant, PA

Uniquely YOU! That is what your wedding day should be. These two hit the nail on the HEAD for staying true to themselves on their big day. There were purses hand made from comic strips because Brenna and Ethan love comics (you can see more of their comic love at their engagement session here), flowers and centerpieces made from books because Brenna is a librarian, unique dresses and attire for the bridal party so they could each display their own swag and style, a Unity BEER mixing each of their favorite beers into one and drinking, and so much more! They are fun loving and original, their love is genuine, and their friendships are a reflection of the people they are and the company they keep…it’s good stuff folks, real good stuff. Enjoy!

Brienne + Steve – Pittsburgh Wedding, Edgewood Club

These two were one of the sweetest and most easy to get a long with couples I have ever worked with. They are so into one another and so genuine, it made being a part of their day easy. The sent each other the most adorable and thoughtful gifts through out the day and every detail had love and joy poured into it. We started off the day with beautiful weather, blue skies and comfortable temperatures. Of course just as we were beginning portraits the rain came and so did the clouds. These two never batted an eye! They were amazing and such troopers while I made them stand in the rain without umbrellas. Not once did they complain and I think it’s because they trusted me and knew the day was about so much more than getting a little soggy. I am SO thankful they took a leap of faith with me because the rain actually turned out to be stunning! I wouldn’t have made them do it if it wasnt going to be worth it. We had cover when we needed it and lots of funny stories to tell about how we ended up in the places with did that day with all the rain. Enjoy!

Alright, so this blog post is EXTRA, EXTRA special to me. The reason? This beautiful woman is my best friend, she was my maid of honor and now (11 years latter) I will be her Matron of Honor…and I couldn’t be more…honored, truly…lots of honor. She and I met in college at IUP and had far more in common than we ever could have expected. Our hearts and spirits were immediately kindred ones. Without writing a novel, she is obviously beautiful outside, but her soul has beauty that reaches to the deepest depths. She is compassionate, loving, encouraging, has immense faith, and she’s SO joyful…mostly we love being ridiculous and laughing together but she has also picked me up in hard moments when I was too weak to do it myself. She has prayed with me and helped me find myself when I had lost it. She has embraced me through every one of life’s challenges and victories, I’m here getting misty just thinking about all she is and has done for me (this is also something we both do, OY! we are criers). She is my girl, through and through and she has always been there for me no matter how many miles separated us. So in saying that it takes a very special and honorable man to be at her side, Sam is that. Thank you Sam for making my J a happy, happy girl. I love you both! Enjoy!

Lauren + Dan – The Club at Nevillewood Wedding

This blog post is full, full of pictures…probably too full, but I couldn’t help myself because the wedding was full of joy, full of emotion, full of love, full of beauty, full of fun, and full of color!!! It took everything in me to get the images narrowed down for this one. I have literally known the bride and her family my entire life. Our moms are best friends and our dads grew up together. I have a lot of love for these two and watching their wedding unfold up close and personal was a complete honor and joy. Every tear, every detail, and all the feels made for a perfect perfect day. The weather called for storms during pictures, but God had better plans…sunshine! I wept again while editing because this wedding was so very special. Congratulations Lauren + Dan thank you for allowing me to share in your day! Enjoy!

South Park – S Fall Family Portraits

I lucked out getting to work with this sweet family through a referral and boy am I glad because I just love how wonderful this portrait session turned out! Of course their little guy just turned one and was nearing his bed time, but he was SUCH a trooper, he just needed to be snuggly with mom and dad and I was not complaining. Snuggles are my favorite. I’m so thankful that in Pittsburgh we get to experience the warm light early fall brings. Enjoy!

Soergel’s Orchard – K Family Fall Pictures

Oh how I love fall! The orchards, the outfits, the cool crisp air, and all the food and festivities that go with it! It’s my favorite time of year  and I love to photograph families in the fall. This family in particular means bunches to me! I went to college with Katie and Ryan and ended up becoming close friends with them and being their son’s nanny from the time he was 3 months old until he was 2. It was bitter sweet when our lives took us separate ways, but we stay close. I have been photographing them since their son was in his mama’s belly and so it’s been my joy to capture all their family milestones as well as share their friendship over the years. This family is too cute and we had a blast…enjoy and happy fall y’all!

Glowing Pittsburgh Maternity Session

Glowing Pittsburgh Maternity Session

This beautiful glowing mama is expecting baby number THREE! You may recognize her from a family maternity blog post a few weeks ago. She said it’s her last and she’s one of my dear friends so we did a special session for her whole family with the bump, and this one for her to be in all her maternal glory. JUST her, beautiful, glowing floral adorned self was in this one. I am actually glad we ended up doing it as a separate session, she really got to shine. You would never believe it but our four kids were with us playing just a few feet away! They played so nice and us photographer mamma’s were extra thankful and proud! We couldn’t have had a better early fall day. The weather was perfect, the styling was perfect, SHE was perfect! To top it all off a white horse pranced past as we were finishing up, you know we both freaked and I had to ask it’s rider if we could borrow it! Thankfully she too agreed, everything was magical that night…everything. Enjoy!

Katie + Matt Expecting – Pittsburgh Maternity

Katie + Matt Expecting – Pittsburgh Maternity

This beautiful couple are very dear to my heart, our paths crossed several years ago when they moved next door and we also realized we attended the same church. I couldn’t be more thankful for the short time they lived next door. Sadly for me, they’ve been called to two other homes since, but we have remained close at heart. Katie and I spent many nights tucking our kids into bed and sneaking over to each others house for late night girl talk sessions, or we would rise up for early morning coffee play dates. I miss those days, but I know what God has planned is far better than my own wishes. They moved to Texas, and learned they were expecting baby number three, so their hearts lead them back home to Pittsburgh!! LUCKY ME! Now they live a short drive away! They have two of the most adorable boys you’d ever see, with piercing blue eyes…I mean look at their parents and you’ll see why they’re so darn cute! Baby number three is a gender surprise! They are also creative minds and passionate business owners which is probably why we click so well! In fact they designed my website…right here…this one you’re on…and I think it is AWESOME!! You can find their business, Hitch Creative, here. They do some seriously awesome web design and content building mentoring sessions. If you need webdesign or just some content pick me ups on your current site, check them out! I highly recommend them! For now check out how stinkin’ adorable they are…enjoy!

Elliott Family – Pittsburgh Maternity

Elliott Family – Pittsburgh Maternity

This sweet family. Where do I begin…I met Meaghan 3 years ago at my own maternity session which she shot for me when I was pregnant with our little boy, my second child. She is an awesome wedding and portrait photographer and you can find her work here. I was just beginning the thrust into my own photography business and somehow she thought highly enough of my new work to agree to trade sessions. So she shot my maternity session, then I shot a family session for her, and we have been trading photography sessions ever since…one of the VERY huge perks of being a photographer! Not only have we exchanged services, but we have exchanged tears, hugs, conversation, prayers and advice. In meeting her I gained a true and great friend, not just a photographer. Though we really don’t hang out like we would hope, and have a hard time connecting even over phone or email…it doesn’t matter, this girl has lassoed my heart and I am so thankful to call her and her growing family, friends. It has been a joy watching God bless them with a third baby and I know they are going to rock it! Enjoy!
